Peer review process
Manuscripts accepted by the scientific editor of the Research Journal of Le Cordon Bleu University undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality of the reviews and, consequently, the quality of the articles in each published issue.
The reviewers are external to the university and are experts in their respective fields, with recognized scientific careers, and must have no conflict of interest with the authors. The review process is carried out with the required discretion, mediated by the editor. Reviewers are provided with guidelines and recommendations on ethics and good conduct that the Editorial Committee expects in each review process. Selected reviewers do not receive remuneration. Manuscript authors may suggest reviewers when submitting their cover letter, but the Editorial Committee reserves the right to select the reviewers.
Once the manuscript is received, the scientific editor analyzes the correspondence of the manuscript's topic with the topics covered by the journal and reviews it using Turnitin-Ithenticate software, accepting up to 18% similarity in the texts. The arbitration process continues with the editorial team reviewing compliance with the journal's instructions for authors. Authors will receive an email indicating the preliminary decision to accept or reject the manuscript within no more than 30 days of receipt. If rejected, resubmission will not be accepted. If minor corrections are necessary, a period of 15 days will be given to return the corrected manuscript.
Each accepted manuscript is assigned to two subject specialists, initiating the double-blind peer review process. Each reviewer will evaluate the work according to the journal's standards and quality criteria. This process has a maximum period of 180 days, determining that the manuscript may be:
- Publishable without modifications.
- Publishable with minor modifications.
- Publishable with major modifications (requires resubmission and reevaluation).
- Not publishable.
Manuscripts will be returned to the authors by the editor within a maximum period of 15 days after the peer review, indicating the minor or major modifications anonymously for correction within a maximum period of 30 days. Only works that have addressed all suggested modifications will be accepted. In case of any disagreement, it should be communicated to the editor in writing upon submission of the revised version, and the editor will make the final decision. If the corrections are not made and sent within 30 days of notification, the manuscript will be withdrawn from the review process.
The manuscript will be accepted once it has passed the peer review process and the author has made all the indicated corrections and modifications. The accepted manuscript then goes to style correction and layout. Once this process is complete, the editor manages the necessary complementary documentation for publication and metadata, informing the authors of the digital object identifier (DOI) of their publication and the publication date.
